My Other Projects....
Here are a few pics of my Subaru at Grattan.... This was the fateful day I blew it up... Was running 314hp at the wheels on the TXS Dyno. With Stage 4 and water injection. The car is now undergoing a major heart transplant at Payne Technologies... Starting with a 2.5 STi block, custom forged pistons, rods, bigger valves, port & polish, a HUGE turbo, and lots of other custom work... We're not looking for big HP... We're looking for BIG torque... The HP will come all by itself!!
ETA, Spring 2005. (Yer right... What year is it now? Oh, 2006... Nearly the end of 2006, and is the car done? Nope, nowhere even close. On the plus side, it'll keep the mileage down!)
Here's some pics of my car parts....
Lightened and balanced crank....
STi cylinder block.... Deburred and cleaned up...
Wiseco custom pistons..... Yep, we're ever so slightly raising the compression! Stock STi pistons on the right...
The undersides of the pistons.... There's just no comparison...
Oliver Rods.... Nice... We couldn't be bothered to dig the stock rods out of the box. When we find them, I'll post pics...
Cylinder heads with enlarged valves. Waiting for the buckets for the valvetrain, and we should be good to go with assembly... We can use the hammer to help with that!
Here's some stuff I brought back from Japan when I went there for work earlier this summer... Yummy or what?!!! It's basically WRC stuff. I got it from Burn-Up. Not available in the USA unless you pay a serious amount of cash!
Here I am carrying this stuff back from Japan. Here, I'm waiting for the train to the airport!

Here are some pics of the completed engine. I still need to add some of brakes and stuff. I've got a feeling I'm going to go ahead and build the car instead of selling it all off. There doesn't seem to be much interest in the stuff I have at the prices I've posted. Some of the stuff is brand new, so I'm not letting it go at a big loss. Amyways...
The finished engine.
And the tranny.
This is kind of where I was planning on going with all this if I don't sell it all off...

This is what the Burn Up stuff will look like on the car. How sweet is that?

4/20/2005 Oh deary me.
While not strictly Scooby stuff, I figured I'd put this up for my family & mates to see so I don't have to email it out to everyone.... Basically, the Blue Mustang lost control entering the I-94 freeway from a left lane entrance ramp at Ecorse Rd, ploughed into my door, spun me out of control and I then smashed into the wall with the front of my car. Everything was covered in glass. I was picking glass out of my hair and skin for a while! You can see a bit of bumper in the background on the freeway. This was off the Mustang. The wall it's sitting by is the one I hit. I was travelling along the freeway at about 75mph at the time. I saw the Mustang losing control, but there's not much torque in an RX-8, and in sixth gear, there wan't much of a chance for me to accelerate out of the way. I couldn't move over either, because the lanes were full of traffic.
Worst of all, not one single person stopped to check if anyone was OK. So, if you saw this happen and didn't do anything about it, SHAME ON YOU. Luckily, nobody was hurt.
4/29/2005 Update
We got word today that the insurance company have declared the car a total loss. Looks like the end of the RX-8 for us.
5/6/2005
We got lucky today, as we went to sort out the replacement for the RX-8. Turns out, there was an RX-8 that came in a couple of days previous, so we took it! It was either that or an Escape. Well, it's "pull me over' red, which is a bit much, as I like these things to be a little more understated these days. Then, imagine our surprise when I opened up the doors to see the fully pimped out interior. Makes me want to go out and buy me an ankle length fake leopard skin coat.
I should've taken the pics in the sun, since the red is a lot brighter than it appears. It looks more like a burgundy in these pics.
9/1/2006
I got a new car, and I never got a chance to put any pics up of it, so now here they are. It's a 2003 BMW M3, in Le Mans Blue. Le Mans Blue is not a standard M3 colour either! It was done on the BMW inividual program, so this car is very, very rare. It has practically every available option for an M3, with an SMG transmission, Nav, power seats, sunroof, 19" alloys, park distance control, cold weather package and Harmon Kardon sound system. It's a hoot to drive too!
The view most people will get!
