This has tuned out to be quite the project. I started it in April, and it's now October and it's STILL not finished. I'm almost there now. See latest pics at the bottom!

I spent the whole day rubbing down the stained wall panels, and restaining it. I'm much happier now.

Spent the day sanding everything. Lot's of dust and aching arms. I then started staining.... Here are some pics so far...

Saturday and Sunday 11/20 & 11/21/2004

This weekend was a busting ass weekend. I did more staining, and got a lot done. Today, I made 30 shelves, rubbed them down and stained some of them, and I also made the window seat lid. The window seat lid is two pieces of 1x12 joined together using a finger bit in a router. What a task. So, I still need to do a lot before the inlaws come for thanksgiving, but I think I might be able to make it. Well, I'm gonna try to take Wednesday off work to do all the last minute stuff!

Here I am making shelves. My workbench is a little on the uncomfortable side. Sometimes, I think I may have got done quicker and in a lot less pain if I'd took some of this stuff to the hangar to make. If anybody knows what the heck my T-Shirt says, let me know, coz I ain't got a clue!

The two middle bookcases haven't had their second stain coat yet, hence the reason they're lighter than the others...

Making the window seat lid. Sorry for the lousy picture. Lucy took these pics, and she had it set on night scene, slooooowwww shutter. Doh!

After doing some staining... Still tons more to do. I gotta get some polyurethane on all this stuff yet too...

Well, I had to take a day off work to get it done, but it's done! I busted my ass polyureathaning everything in sight. So, we now have some books on the shelves. Here are a few shots showing the finishing touches. Now we need to find some nice antique furniture for the room, and a nice rug.
