FADEC Rip Out

Engine off

Step one was to remove the engine. But first, Clayton decided he wanted to play around with the new scissor lift I’d got for the hangar. We’d used it to get some lights up on the ceiling when we first moved into that hangar.

First off was removing the prop, cutting the safety wires and checking everything was okay, on the way to the end point: removing the engine from the aircraft.

This was a bit of a nightmare for me. I hate taking things apart once everything’s together and nice. Unfortunately, with the FADEC system being such a pain, it was the only way to really go, so I could get access to everything and go back to the old magnetos.
