About 30 pounds lighter
Once we’d removed everything for the FADEC system from the engine, it was time to move to the airframe and figure out how to remove the harness. It went through the firewall as well, to get to the controllers and so on, so this was a bit of a challenge.
Ultimately, though, we got the wire harness out. As you can see, it’s like a giant spinal cord, and it probably weighed five or six pounds, maybe a little more.
All in all, when it was said and done, we removed about 30 pounds of stuff from the aeroplane by taking out the FADEC system, the ECUs and so on.
