Garmin Panel Update

June 23, 2017

When I originally installed the switches on the first panel, I made sure there were no visible fasteners, and I wanted the same thing here. I didn’t want the little nuts that go around the barrels of the switches to be visible. So I originally made a carrier for the back, which the switches actually clamp to, and you can see the screws at each end that hold that carrier to the panel. It gives a nice clean look, so I replicated that here.

It was quite difficult match drilling these holes and getting them all perfect. On the old panel I was able to match drill the two parts together at the time, but here I was trying to carry the original spacing over to the new panel. It was a bit tricky, but it looks like it worked.
